THE CHALLENGE
Financial planning and wealth transfer can feel overwhelming, especially for younger clients navigating unfamiliar systems and high-stakes decisions. Many users feel overloaded by information, uncertain about next steps, and unsupported outside of scheduled meetings. Over time, this turns users into passive participants in a process they should feel empowered to lead.
THE INSIGHTS
Clients didn’t want AI to replace human advisors, and many were hesitant to fully trust it with deeply personal financial decisions. Instead, they responded more positively to support that offered clarity, continuity, and privacy without judgment. By guiding users before, during, and after advisor meetings, Rhea helps reduce cognitive overload and encourages more confident participation during critical financial moments.
DESIGN DIRECTION
Based on user research & the emotional journey of financial decision-making, the experience is grounded in three core design principles.
Reduce Decision Paralysis
Financial decisions often feel overwhelming and high-stakes, especially for younger users. The experience reduces cognitive load by surfacing the right information at the right moment and breaking complex decisions into clear, manageable steps.
Lower Communication Fear & Barriers
Users often hesitate to ask questions or clearly express what matters to them in financial conversations. The system supports dialogue by translating jargon, prompting reflection, and helping users articulate priorities more confidently.
Support Without Replacing Human Trust
Rather than replacing the advisor, the system enhances the human relationship. It provides subtle, context-aware guidance that supports both client and advisor while preserving trust, agency, and
shared understanding.
These principles guide how Rhea supports users before, during, and after advisor meetings.
